Op de site van de Business Blog Book Tour kwam ik de volgende beschrijving tegen van dit fenomeen:
Business Blog Book Tour
The idea for the BBBT came from Kevin Smolker and his Virtual Book Tour. Kevin (who got the original idea from Ben Brown at So New Media) has been hosting book tours for some time. His motivation was to connect weblogging with publishing. He wanted to connect readers with good books. Kevin’s tours focus on literary fiction and narrative non-fiction. We want to…….

do the same thing, but with business titles.
The way the book tour works is simple. The author “moves” from one website to another each day. While visiting, the author might be interviewed by the owner. They might guest host the site for the day. The possibilities are endless.
Authors benefit from the low-cost publicity for their books. Bloggers benefit from unique content and exposure to business thought leaders.
Please read on if you are an author, in the publishing industry, or would like to be a stop on the tour
For Authors:
We are looking for titles that talk about business in a different way.
We are looking for lesser known titles. You won’t see Tom Peters or Jim Collins on the tour.
Your commitment would be providing copies of the book to the bloggers on the tour and being available for the 5-10 days of the tour.
On the tour, you need to be open to both praise and critique. Bloggers are free to comment on the general subject and your view of it
We are going to be partial to published authors. We don’t have time to read a lot of submissions of self-published work.

To set-up a tour, the publisher must provide copies of the book for each tour site. The author must also have access to a computer and being available for the 5-10 days of the tour.

For Potential Tour Stops:
The BBBT is a book tour of business titles. Your blog’s main focus needs to be business related posts. General blogs are great, but don’t provide the readers that the BBBT is looking for.
Don’t be surprised if we ask about site statisitics. We need to be able to tell authors about the PR they can expect from the tour.
If selected, you will received a copy of the book. You will need to read the book, and coordinate posts with the author on your day. Please consider the time commitment before submitting your site.
