Rifkin22 september I will attend a lecture of Jeremy Rifkin about the European Dream organised by the John Adams Institute.

One of the most influential social thinkers of our time, Rifkin has
helped define our global debate over the impact of technology on
society, the economy and the environment. He is an advisor to European
heads of state and was recently named one of the 150 most influential
people in shaping US government policy.
His latest book – The
European Dream
: How Europe’s Vision of the Future is Quietly Eclipsing
the American Dream – argues that the European Dream is the mirror
opposite of its American counterpart and far better suited to meet the
challenges of a globalizing society in the 21st century.

Rifkin
is the author of the international bestseller The End of Work. His
monthly column on global issues appears in many of the world’s leading
newspapers, including The Guardian, Die Suddeutsche Zeitung and El
Pais. He is founder and president of the Foundation on Economic Trends
and a frequent guest on America’s leading television news programs.

Tracy Metz, journalist for NRC Handelsblad, will moderate the evening. Of course I will give more information after this lecture.
