This afternoon I was testing Captivate of Macromedia. A competitor of Camtasia Studio for screencasting. They have a nice tour to see the highlights. It is clear the Captivate is very intuitive and user friendly. Just some clicks and you are recording or editing.
The concept is based on slides which you can easily edit. You can record audio and edit that as well. There is no camerarecording option. That’s a pitty. I like the picture-in-picture feature. Another thing I saw was that Captivate is not recording all movements on the screen. If you type text for example, this is not recorded and played back. Strange. But the product is strong enough to compete with Camtasia. So I am going to do some experiments with it.
