If you can’t stop it, don’t start it

On May 30, 2005, in In English, Weblogs, by Hans Mestrum

That’s what Jesse Taylor is saying about weblogs. Smart companies don’t blogRobert Scoble and Steve Rubel totally disagree. And I think both, Robert and Steve, are right. I think Jesse is worried about the bottom-up approach of weblogs and about giving up control. But hé guy, it is a new world we are entering! Not rules and structures are going to be important, but communication and selfregulation. From ordinary people, not just from bosses or corporates. So if a company does not blog, it’s people will….Get it. Jesse is talking way too much about control, managing and accountability and too little about passion, emotion, conversation. Weblogs are made for and by people, not resources.
