We gaan steeds meer mobiel werken. Ik merk dat zelf ook. Ik werk op kantoor, thuis en wil onderweg eigenlijk ook bij van alles en nog wat kunnen. In ieder geval mijn email, internet en dan mijn tools voor webloggen, lezen van RSS feeds en dergelijke. Maar wordt er eigenlijk wel over nagedacht hoe dit kan en wat is dan de strategie; Forrester heeft er onderzoek naar gedaan en komt tot de conclusie dat ik niet alleen ben die meer eisen stelt aan mobiel werken. Maar vooral dat er een strategie moet komen op dit vlak. Lijkt me goed, als het dan maar niet ten koste gaat van flexibiliteit.

With nearly 47% of companies deploying mobile solutions by May 2005, it is becoming increasingly important to evolve from tactical mobility projects to a consolidated, managed, enterprisewide approach to mobility to limit operational costs and security risks. As companies do so, a distinction is emerging in the way that they need to think about the information needs of mobile workers, such as field service technicians, versus the mobile needs of information users, such as executives. As a result, centrally managing and optimizing the unique needs of each of these groups requires structured approaches across technology and the organization. “
